Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber

I don't know where I stand on this, because I use both. Issue is, while an Icon of black cabs are expensive.
I get an Uber home sometimes from the London Stadium to Bromley for around £15. A black cab would probably cost £30/£40.
Thoughts?

Most black cab drivers are highway code ignoring, tax dodging, Brexit supporting morons.

Problem is, UBER drivers have absolutely no clue where they're going even with the help of satnavs.
I'd much rather use a black cab .

As someone who drives a lot in London, I’m a big fan of the way Uber drivers drive their Prius’ at an average of 5mph because they’re too tight to spend money on petrol. Great for the environment some would say, except for the traffic jams following them everywhere chucking out tons of CO2. I also like the way they clog up all the parking spaces without paying. The roads are really enriched by their presence.

Not a fan of black cab drivers arrogant fuckers who are obsessed with getting all the money.
Sadly for them their time is up so I can understand them shitting themselves they have every right because they pay taxes and deserve to moan but uber is the future people want cheap and do not give two shits about whether the cabbie knows twelve different routes in his big brain to get to Buckingham palace or to the Camden Palais .
What turned most against them is the way they tarnished every mini cab driver as being rapists or foreigners who knew nothing.

uber is excellent, but i'll still use the odd black cab for convenience. The people will vote with their monies and if people want to use uber then so be it.

My old man was a black cab driver and is now an Uber driver. More convenient for him.
I use Uber, it’s easier than waiting for a black cab to stop and then charge shotloads of money, although I still use them if I have to.
At the end of the day, people just wanna get to where they want to go and for as less as possible. Black cab drivers could always lower their prices if they wanted to combat it but they won’t.

My experience of black cabs is not good. My wife was racially abused by one when she first came to this country because she wasn't aware of the giving tips and paid what was on the metre. She is of indian descent and he called her a "Black cunt". from that point I stopped giving them tips and each time was subjected to all kinds of abuse. I have not now used one for 45 years since buying my first car. The are mouthy, arrogant cunts and aggressive drivers. I will always avoid giving way to them on the road.

Given their business model/payment method, I suspect Uber drivers fiddle a lot less tax than black cabbies.

It's a double whammy. Being undercut on price by Uber and having to declare an increasing amount of the fares they do get because people want to pay by card...
